French couple Antoine and Olga have started a new life, relocating to a remote corner of Galicia, N.W. Spain. They are not averse to hard work and possess a tough idealism, sincere in their belief that the cultivation and selling of organic produce is the way forward. However, they reckon without the hostility of the locals, in particular the creepy Anta brothers who do everything in their power to make life difficult for the newcomers. The crunch comes with the French couple’s opposition to the locals’ desire to sell their land to a wind farm company. The former’s idealism and plans for investment in the future collide head-on with the latter’s longing, after a life time of toil, to make enough money to get out. Social realism meets rural “noir” in this tense and violent tale of culture clash, resentment and xenophobia, based loosely on real events.
