The untidy end of a marriage is under the microscope in this astonishingly revealing and perceptive film. The couple in question, Marie and Boris, married for 15 years with twin daughters, are still living together in the family home. As Boris cannot afford to get a place of his own, never having been as well off as Marie and her family, this awkward cohabitation must be endured until a financial settlement can be arranged. The strain that this situation imposes on both of them is immense and their attempt at a mature modus vivendi for the sake of the children frequently degenerates into petty bickering and some excruciatingly embarrassing moments! Issues that might not have seemed so important to a couple in love now take centre stage after love. Devastatingly astute and completely engrossing.
